The City of Corner Brook and the Corner Brook Port Corporation will be hosting a one day workshop entitled “Cruise in Corner Brook: Maximizing Opportunities” on June 2, 2015. We are inviting businesses and organizations who are currently engaged in the cruise industry or who are interested in learning more about it. This workshop will be a full day session taking place in the Corner Brook Port Corporation boardroom, second floor of the R.A. Pollett Building at 61 Riverside Drive.
The workshop will cover numerous topics, including:
- Cruise line expectations from their ports of call
- How shore excursions work and what makes a great shore excursion
- Best practices from around the world
- Gaps in the guest experience or areas of improvement specific to Corner Brook
- Opportunities in Corner Brook for product development in the downtown to diversify guest experiences
The session will be facilitated by Melanie Colpitts from Aquila Tours/Aquila Centre for Cruise Excellence, a Saint John, NB based tour and training company. Aquila has a stellar reputation in the global cruise industry for delivering outstanding shore excursion products to cruise lines visiting the Port of Saint John. In addition, their Centre for Cruise Excellence has been providing port readiness training and product development advice to cruise ports and had developed an on-line tour guide training course which has been endorsed by the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), one of the largest cruise organizations in the world.
